Itinerary Low Water Season 7 Days

Day 1 ( Sunday): Iquitos, Nauta, Marañon River , Nauta Caño

Begin your Amazon expedition with a tour through Iquitos, where colonial charm and jungle culture merge. You’ll then transfer to the river town of Nauta to board your riverboat and settle into your cabin. As the ship sets sail on the Marañón River, meet your naturalist guides and get an overview of the journey. After a welcome lunch featuring Amazonian flavors, head out for a night boat excursion to Nauta Caño. In this magical twilight setting, observe nocturnal wildlife such as frogs, bats, caimans, and tarantulas. Back on board, enjoy your first dinner under the stars.

Day 2 (Monday): Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Yanayacu De Pucate, San Regis, Amazonic Natural Park

Enjoy a scenic picnic breakfast on the Yanayacu River, located within the pristine Pacaya Samiria National Reserve—often visited by playful pink dolphins. Glide across the waters in a traditional canoe and take a refreshing dip in the river if you wish. After lunch onboard, attend a presentation on Amazonic philosophy, followed by a visit to the San Regis community. Meet a local shaman who shares ancestral knowledge of medicinal plants and spiritual rituals. Conclude the visit with a tree-planting ceremony, a symbolic act of sustainability. Unwind to live music before dinner.

Day 3 (Tuesday): Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Amazonic Natural Park, Shiriyacu

Start the day with a sunrise boat ride to Iquitos Brook, a rich habitat for endemic wildlife. After breakfast, walk through the forest to the area of hanging bridges, where you’ll enjoy an elevated view of the Amazon from treetop level. Following lunch and a rest break, head to the Shiriyacu stream for an interactive piranha fishing session using local gear. Keep an eye out for pink dolphins that frequent these waters. The evening closes with live music and a relaxing dinner onboard.

Day 4 (Wednesday): Nauta, Amazon River, Yacapana Creek

Begin with an early visit to Gasparito Brook, an excellent site for bird and primate watching. After breakfast, enjoy a cocktail demonstration of the iconic Pisco Sour. A midday boat excursion to Marayali Lagoon reveals stunning Amazonian biodiversity and the iconic “Victoria Regias”—the world’s largest water lilies. Later, sail to Yacapana Creek to observe dramatic landscapes and diverse wildlife. As the day ends, enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the river, followed by dinner and a peaceful night onboard.

Day 5 (Thursday): Ucayali River, Vista Alegre, Yarapa > Ucayali River

Rise early for a skiff ride along the Ucayali River, where treetop canopies are filled with colorful birds. After breakfast, explore the Yarapa River, home to monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and a variety of parrots and macaws. Return to the boat for lunch and a rest, then set out to visit the village of Vista Alegre. Spend the afternoon learning about the lifestyle and customs of the native community with the help of your guides. Live music will welcome you back onboard before dinner.

Day 6, (Friday): Ucamara / Confluence (Origin of the Amazon River), Cocha Piranha, Casual, Marañon River

Start with a talk on the vast Pacaya Samiria Reserve, and then journey to the confluence of the Marañón and Ucayali Rivers—the birthplace of the mighty Amazon River. Explore the Piraña Cocha area by boat, rich in biodiversity. After lunch, hike through the Casual jungle trails, home to exotic frogs, insects, and towering trees known as “Avatar.” You’ll also have the chance to purchase handmade crafts from local women artisans. Cap off the day with a dazzling sunset and farewell dinner with the crew.

Day 7, (Saturday): Nauta, Iquitos, Airport

Enjoy a calm breakfast before disembarking in Nauta. Visit the town’s lively market, where locals trade foods, remedies, crafts, and more. On the way back to Iquitos, stop at the Amazon Forever Bio Park—home to the Manatee Rescue Center. Learn about the conservation work being done to rehabilitate manatees and other wildlife before they are released back into their natural habitat. After this meaningful visit, continue to the airport for your onward journey.
