Annual Program Itinerary 4 Days

Day 1 (Sunday): Iquitos, Nauta, Marañon River, Nauta Caño

Your Amazon journey begins upon arrival in Iquitos, where you’ll take a guided city tour to discover its historical and cultural charm. From there, travel to the river port town of Nauta and board the La Perla cruise ship. Settle into your comfortable cabin and get acquainted with the naturalist guides who will outline the itinerary and introduce you to Amazon wildlife. As the ship sails down the Marañón River, enjoy a welcome lunch showcasing regional flavors. Later, embark on an exciting night boat excursion to Nauta Caño, where nocturnal creatures such as frogs, tarantulas, bats, and caimans emerge. After this jungle immersion, return to the ship for dinner and a restful night.

Day 2 (Monday) : Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Yanayacu de Pucate, San Regis, Amazonic Natural Park

The day begins with a picnic breakfast on the scenic Yanayacu River in Pucate, a well-preserved section of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve where pink dolphins often appear. Enjoy a peaceful canoe ride through this aquatic paradise and take a refreshing swim if you wish. After lunch on board, join a talk about Amazonic philosophy. In the afternoon, visit the San Regis community for a profound cultural experience with a local shaman who will share ancestral knowledge about rituals, medicinal plants, and the Amazonian worldview. Participate in a symbolic tree-planting ceremony before heading back to the ship for dinner, live music, and a preview of the next day’s adventures.

Day 3 (Tuesday): Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, Amazonic Natural Park, Shiriyacu

Start the day with a pre-breakfast excursion to Iquitos Brook, a hotspot for spotting native birds and animals during the early morning hours. Return for a hearty breakfast before heading into the jungle on foot to explore a network of hanging bridges. This canopy-level walk offers a unique view of the forest’s biodiversity from above. After lunch and a short rest, enjoy a boat trip to the Shiriyacu stream, where you’ll try your hand at traditional piranha fishing and look out for pink dolphins. End the day with a relaxed dinner on board, accompanied by live music under the Amazonian sky.

Day 4 (Wednesday): Nauta, Amazon River, Yacapana Gorge

In the early morning, take a final boat ride to Gasparito Brook, a rich environment for birdwatching and spotting primates in their natural habitat. After breakfast, enjoy a demonstration of how to prepare a classic Peruvian cocktail, the Pisco Sour. Then, disembark and begin your journey back to Iquitos. On the way to the airport, visit the Amazon Forever Bio Park, where manatees and other rescued wildlife are rehabilitated before being returned to the wild. This inspiring stop highlights the importance of conservation efforts in the region. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

  • All meals aboard La Perla. Every day you will enjoy a variety of flavors made with products from the area. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet style.

  • Transfers from / to the ship when arriving on recommended flights to Iquitos. * In case of staying in hotels in the city of Iquitos - inform the sales and reservations department to coordinate the pick-up before or after the tour.
