Annual Program Itinerary 4 Days

Day 1 (Wednesday): Iquitos, Nauta, Amazon River, Yacapana Creek

Your journey begins with a guided city tour of Iquitos, showcasing its vibrant culture and rich history. From there, you’ll travel by private vehicle to Nauta, a historic river port where your cruise begins. Aboard the La Perla, settle into your cabin and meet the naturalist guides who will introduce the trip plan and Amazonian wildlife. Enjoy a welcome lunch featuring local cuisine before heading out on a thrilling nighttime boat excursion in the Nauta Caño area. As darkness falls, the jungle comes alive with nocturnal creatures such as caimans, bats, frogs, and even tarantulas. Return to the ship for dinner and rest in preparation for the days ahead.

Day 2 (Thursday): Ucayali River, Vista Alegre, Yarapa, Ucayali River

At sunrise, take to the skiffs for birdwatching along the Ucayali River—an explosion of color and sound among the treetops. After breakfast back on board, head out again on a new excursion to the Yarapa River, where wildlife abounds: toucans, monkeys, sloths, and parrots await in the canopy. After lunch, enjoy a cultural talk on Amazonian traditions before visiting the town of Vista Alegre. Meet members of the native community and learn about their way of life with the help of your guides. Return to La Perla to relax with live music before dinner.

Day 3 (Friday): Ucamara / Confluence (Origin of the Amazon River), Cocha Piranha, Casual, Marañon River

Begin the day with a presentation on the remarkable Pacaya Samiria Reserve, home to some of the Amazon’s richest biodiversity. Then, cruise to the Ucamara region to witness the breathtaking confluence of the Marañón and Ucayali rivers, the very spot where the Amazon River is born. Continue the expedition to Piraña Cocha, a secluded area perfect for spotting more wildlife. After lunch, explore Casual, a jungle trail system known for its “Avatar” trees, colorful frogs, and diverse fauna. You’ll also have the chance to support local women artisans by purchasing handcrafted goods. End the day with a spectacular sunset and a farewell celebration on board with live music.

Day 4 (Saturday) Nauta, Iquitos, Airport

Enjoy a calm morning with breakfast as you return to Nauta. Explore its bustling market where locals trade foods, crafts, and natural remedies. It’s an immersive look at daily life in the Amazon. Before your transfer to the airport, visit the Amazon Forever Bio Park, a rescue center dedicated to rehabilitating manatees and other wildlife. Learn about conservation efforts and the vital work being done to protect endangered species in the region. Conclude your Amazon journey with a deeper understanding of both nature and community.

All meals aboard La Perla. Every day you will enjoy a variety of flavors made with products from the area. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet style.

Transfers from / to the ship when arriving on recommended flights to Iquitos. * In case of staying in hotels in the city of Iquitos - inform the sales and reservations department to coordinate the pick-up before or after the tour.

Tipping etiquette.
